The Awards Editor at The Hollywood Reporter leads our awards coverage strategy, ensuring that our reporting remains at the forefront of the entertainment industry. The awards specials editor will collaborate with a team of talented journalists, editors, and contributors, including THR's deputy editorial director, to produce compelling content that captures the excitement and significance of awards season.
Responsibilities:

• Develop and execute a comprehensive editorial strategy for awards coverage across digital and print, identifying industry trends and anticipating key moments throughout awards season
• Produce high-quality articles, features and analysis pieces covering major awards shows, nominations, winners and controversies. Generate original story ideas and pitches that engage our audience and drive conversation within the entertainment community
• Lead a team of writers, editors and freelancers, providing guidance, feedback and support to ensure that all content meets our standards for accuracy, integrity and editorial excellence
• Foster a collaborative and inclusive work environment that encourages creativity and innovation
• Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with industry insiders, including filmmakers, actors, studio executives and guild voters. Attend industry events and screenings to network and gather insights for our coverage.
• Collaborate with other departments, including marketing, sales and events, to develop integrated campaigns and initiatives that leverage our awards coverage to drive business objectives and revenue growth.
• Represent the publication through media appearances and hosting THR-sponsored panels and events

Requirements:

• At least five years-plus editorial experience
• Must be able to work in InCopy and on WordPress
• Must be able to turn around a high volume of high-quality content quickly
• Must be a self-starter, well organized as well as a collaborative team player not only with editors but also with the photo, design and social teams
• Works well under pressure
• Represent The Hollywood Reporter at events when appropriate

Typical wage range: $125k - $140k. Factors that could be used to determine your actual salary may include your specific skills, years of experience and comparison to current employees already in this role. The total compensation package for this position will also include other elements, a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits including 401(k) eligibility and paid time off benefits.
