Senior Audio Software Engineer (Lead) Building an audio-focused Gen Z mobile app at Google/Snap/TikTok alumni startup mayk is looking for a part- or full-time senior software engineer with a minimum of 4 years of relevant JUCE/C audio experience, and 3 years of mobile (iOS or Android) experience to join a newly funded, experienced consumer social app team in shaping the future of casual music creation. If you have worked on building an audio engine or always dreamed of building one, this is the perfect opportunity for you! Who we are: mayk is on a mission to democratize music creation. We started mayk because we realized there were too many barriers to entry when it came to music production, and too many voices going unheard. To fix that, were building an innovative, easy-to-use music creation tool to democratize sonic creativity on mobile by giving anyone the ability to create their own unique music and sound snippets. Were making music production as simple and accessible as Instagram and TikTok made photography and videography. We want everyone to bring their song idea from inception to [full-blown studio production] completion, and we want you to help us build the future of music! As for the team, were a mostly LA-based / partially US and EUR distributed team of music-obsessed former Google, Snap and TikTok leads creating the next wave of 2020s social media. Who were looking for: mayk is looking for a part- or full-time senior engineer with 4 years of relevant low-level audio software engineering experience to join a lean, experienced engineering team and help create and build out key features as we scale. Note, this is not a sound / audio engineering position CS experience is a must. Were building an easy-to-use mobile DAW and are looking for a strong audio software engineer who is looking to grow with our team someone who can help build code, discuss system architecture, collaborate with designers, and help solve problems across engineering, business, and design.
