Venturi, LLC, a Chenega company, has an excellent opportunity for a Systems Administrator, Senior . This induvial will join a team of engineers who pride themselves on analyzing the most difficult challenges for the launch-test range while developing and delivering solutions to meet the needs of the US Space Force and their customers.
Venturi is a subcontractor to a company that operates, maintains, and sustains mission-critical systems to provide safe and effective launch, testing, and tracking of Department of Defense, civil, commercial, and international space lift vehicles.We support ballistic missile, guided weapon, and aeronautical tests and evaluations as well as support space situational awareness operations and experiments to defend the United States to ensure our nations safety. Responsibilities
Analyze and resolve software and hardware matters of significance about networking connectivity issues, printers, servers, and applications to meet business needs
Apply operating system and software updates, patches, and configuration changes
Add, remove, or update user account information and reset passwords
Perform system performance tuning
Responsible for the security of systems in the lab
Perform backups
Analyze system logs and identify potential issues with computer systems
Troubleshoot any reported problems
Ensure that the network infrastructure is up and running
Answer technical queries
Research, develop, and recommend technical solutions in support of software and hardware sustainment/development activities
Develop and update documentation, including software and hardware lists, user manuals, and engineering drawings
Prepare purchase requests for consumables, hardware, and software as needed
Respond to and resolve environmental alarms
Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
BS degree in Information Systems, Information Technology, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Mathematics, Electrical Engineering, or related field or equivalent combination of education and experience of 5 years of experience with computer systems or networking
5 years of systems administration experience supporting Windows and Linux
Experience with any or all the following operating systems; VMS, AIX, Solaris, or IRIX desired
Experience with virtualization using VMWare ESXi servers desired
Experience with CISCO routers, switches, and Advanced Security Appliances desired
Experience with McAfee (Intel) firewalls desired
Experience with the LogRhythm Security Information and Event Manager (SIEM) desired
The flexibility to work occasional non-duty hours or on weekends to support specific project or mission requirements
Must currently have and be able to maintain a DoD Secret Security Clearance, which includes U.S. citizenship
Valid U.S. Drivers License
Current Security certification required
Interim Secret clearance
