Centennial Water and Sanitation District is seeking applicants for a Field Mechanic in our Field Operations Department. This position performs a variety of skilled and semi-skilled tasks which result in the efficient and effective operation and maintenance of all field facilities, including water/wastewater pump stations, well pumping, ASR injection, groundwater treatment facilities and systems and both raw and potable water storage reservoirs.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESWorks under the direct supervision of the Lead Field Operator.
SUPERVISION EXERCISEDMay supervise temporary staff or other staff as assigned.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONSRequired to obtain one of the following certifications within the first year: Colorado Class 1 Distribution Operator or Colorado Class 1 Collection Operator or Class D Water Treatment Operator certifications.
Field Operator 2: up to $33.61 an hourRequired to have two of the following certifications: Colorado Class 1 Distribution Operator or Colorado Class 1 Collection Operator or Class D Water Treatment Operator certifications and maintain a Colorado Class A CDL license with Hazmat endorsement.
Field Operator 3: up to $35.29 an hourRequired to have two of the following certifications: Colorado Class 2 Distribution Operator or Colorado Class 2 Collection Operator or Class C Water Treatment Operator certifications and maintain a Colorado Class A CDL license with Hazmat endorsement.
Field Operator 4: up to $37.06 an hourRequired to have two of the following certifications: Colorado Class 3 Distribution Operator or Colorado Class 3 Collection Operator or Class B Water Treatment Operator and maintain a Colorado Class A CDL license with Hazmat endorsement.
NECESSARY KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIESWORK SCHEDULE
Generally, works on rotational shift 40 hours per week. Work schedule will vary depending on weather conditions, projects, staffing and on-call rotation schedule. The employee must be able to be on “24 hour” call for a period of one week as assigned. The employee must be able to arrive at work within 30 minutes of notification.
Regular and predictable attendance is an essential function of the job.
