Whittemore is Hiring for; Production Shift Supervisor
Family-Owned Industrial Manufacturing Company of Perlite & Vermiculite in Lawrence, MA seeks an experienced shift supervisor for our production team.
This position takes a “hands on” approach to both personnel and equipment. Supervisor will be operating furnaces, overseeing production worker tasks, coordinating shipping and other necessary tasks. Typical shift size consists of 5-10 production workers.
Candidate should be a leader who can coach and motivate his team to reach production targets and always have Safety, Quality and Service in mind.
- Hybrid Shift hours are from 11am to 7pm, Monday to Fri, with weekend as needed
- Average work day is a 9hr day
- This position will be the cover person for the 2nd shift supervisor and if needed when 3rd shift is required to run will move to that shift to run the shift.
For this Position Whittemore will send you out for a physical and Drug test and on passing this you be given a start date.
Training:
- Training will be done on 1st shift for up to 2 months

Responsibilities:
- Operating Furnaces and Equipment
- Assign tasks and manage production workers
- Coordinate and oversee shipping and receiving
- Adhere to all safety policies and procedures
- Supervisor’s responsible interviewing and hiring works for their shifts
- This role is not a desk job this is a floor Production Supervisor position maintaining a present on the Production floor.
Qualifications:
- Minimum 3 years supervisor experience
- Previous experience in machinery or other related fields preferred
- Familiarity with industrial tools and equipment
- Ability to handle physical workload and lifting up to 50 Lbs.
Pay:
- $66,000.00 - $72,000.00 per year
- Pay rate will based of experience
- Salary Position
- Paid Weekly
Bonus:
- Quarterly Bonus based on shift production output. Bonus program will begin when you complete the training and take over running your own shift.
