Global Healthcare IT is Hiring a Back Office Medical Assistant Near Laguna Hills, CA

Duties:

Position Summary:
-Under supervision, the Back Office Assistant performs a variety of back office and clerical duties in support of the patient care activities, ensuring even patient flow and continuous communication with RN’s, employees and leaders.
-The Back Office Assistant greets and assists patients, answers phones, schedules appointments, and escorts patients to room.
-This role collects and records patient vital signs (BP, TPR,height and weight), and promptly reports and unusual observations or changes in patient condition.
-Assists physician with examination and procedures within the scope of their job.
-Provides patients with information as directed.
-Cleans exam room and instruments and maintains and organizes supplies.
-Performs other duties as assigned.

Skills:

Required Skills & Experience:
-Minimum one (1) year previous medical back-office experience, preferably within an acute healthcare system environment.
-Basic keyboarding skills at 35 WPM.
-Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, Word and Excel.
-Basic knowledge of medical terminology.

-N/A

Education:

Required Education:
-High school graduate or equivalent.

Preferred Education:
-Associate or bachelor's degree in healthcare-related field.

Required Certifications & Licensure:
-BLS certification.
-Graduate of Medical Assistant program or equivalent work experience.
