Job Title: Overhaul Technician - Blades

Reports To: Production Supervisor

Location: Kent, WA

FLSA Status: Non-Exempt

PACIFIC PROPELLER INTERNATIONAL (PPI) BACKGROUND

POSITION PURPOSE

Support the overhaul and repair of Allison and Hamilton Standard aircraft propeller systems to airworthiness. This includes evaluation, disassembly, inspection, assembly and test per Manual, Service Bulletin and Directives.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include some or all the following and are not intended to be all-inclusive. PPI reserves the right to change, add or delete responsibilities and duties as seen fit. An employee’s specific job duties, priorities, and performance expectations are detailed in his/her individual performance plan.

Responsibilities/Duties

  • Disassemble and tear down propeller blade assemblies.
  • Setup and use manual machining equipment, hand tools, utilize precision measurement tools (micrometers, indicators, calipers), hydraulic presses and plastic media blast equipment.
  • Perform light maintenance of equipment as needed.
  • Shotpeen, riveting, grit blasting, repairing composites and using various types of lathes and grinders.
  • Metalworking operations such as grinding, drilling, polishing and paint removal. (Aerospace parts, automotive, surface finishing,)
  • Reading drawings and technical manuals

QUALIFICATIONS

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

TYPICAL PROBLEM SOLVING

Applying common sense understanding to carry out detailed and complicated written or oral instructions. Dealing with problems involving many variables in sometimes difficult and stressful situations. Examples include: managing many simultaneous high priority projects and user requests.

MINIMUM EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Familiarity with FAA regulations and requirements

MINIMUM WORK EXPERIENCE

  • 1-2 years in Aerospace related experience; military aircraft maintenance experience; prop maintenance experience.
  • 1-2 years’ experience in MRO, assembly, or production environments.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

  • Prefer A& P License AND/OR 1-3 years aircraft mechanic.

OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES

Applies common sense understanding to carry out detailed and complicated written or oral instructions; Able to deal with frequent change, delays, or unexpected events; Obsessive attention to detail, ability to balance multiple work assignments; organized work habits; ability to work independently. Proficiency with major software programs: e.g., Made to Manage, MS Office Suite.

  • Able to read, understand and follow aircraft manuals, technical documents and other directions written in the English language.
  • Ability to use basic math for mechanical measurements.
  • Ability to correctly complete paperwork in compliance with work orders and job manuals
  • Must be able to use hand tools, micrometers, air gages, and other special tools.

SALARY RANGE

$30 hr. to $34 hr.

$.50 hr. for 2nd shift differential

6am to 2:30pm Mon - Fri while training. Then move to 2pm to 12:30am Mon - Thur (4x10's).
