Description

The Assistant Director of Admission reports to the Director of Enrollment Management and is responsible for the recruitment, selection and enrollment of mission aligned students in support of strategic enrollment goals.

Primary Responsibilities:

1. Develop and maintain relationships with prospective students and parents.
2. Cultivate relationships with feeder schools, consultants, program leaders and other recruitment partners.
3. Plan and attend WRA admission events, both on and off campus. 
4. Using professional judgment and an accurate understanding of the qualities of students who thrive at WRA, participate in the evaluation and selection of applicants for admission. 
5. Participate fully in WRA’s 24/7 residential community, including advising, dorm duty and other duties as assigned. 
6. Embrace a schedule that will include work on some evenings and weekends as well as regional and national travel. 
7. Participate in coaching 1-3 seasons as needed, including the recruitment of mission appropriate student athletes. 

Requirements

Essential Qualities: 

The ideal candidate will be a collaborative and self-motivated professional who enjoys working with teenagers and understands the lifestyle of boarding school and wishes to get involved holistically on campus. Please note, the admission office is a 12 month office and as such summer hours and work are to be expected. Other qualities include:

1. Ability to articulate the value of an independent boarding school education.
2. Strong communication and presentation skills, both verbally and in writing.
3. Strong organizational and project management skills with a drive for results.
4. Appreciation of cultural differences; experience with and enthusiasm for domestic and international travel.
5. Adeptness at being part of a team. 
6. A positive outlook, sense of humor, grace under pressure, and flexibility.

Minimum Qualifications:

1. Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant discipline.
2. 1-3 years of related professional experience, preferably in a boarding school.
