Kforce is Hiring a Backup Engineer Near Houston, TX
- Articulates the business value and impact of technical and non-technical information and understands when to escalate issues
- Backup Engineer will provide effective production support including accurate problem identification, ticket documentation and customer/vendor dialogue
- Delivers project and process documentation for small-to medium-scale projects and drives compliance with structured Project Delivery Process
- As a Backup Engineer, you will ensure information controls, back-up and recovery strategies are in place across all environments
- 3 years of experience with problem resolution in large scale production environment
- Strong experience in scripting (shell, Perl, python etc.) to automate the backup service requirement
- Experience with ITIL processes - Incident Management and Change Management required
- Experience with backup provisioning and configuration in Cohesity and Commvault
- Advanced knowledge of Cohesity, Commvault, Index Engines backup products, including the command line environment; Intermediate knowledge of AWS or AZURE is a plus
- Knowledgeable in TCP/IP networking, Firewall technology
- Intermediate knowledge of large-scale enterprise backup solutions
- Knowledgeable in Microsoft Windows, Visio, other Productivity tools
- Advanced business continuity/resiliency knowledge
- Familiar with storage products - Block (SAN) and File (NAS)
- Familiar with agile development methodologies and practices
- Must have a strong technology background to understand change requests and to recommend alternate solutions
