RVCC is looking to hire a BSAS Certified Peer Specialist / Recovery Coach!

Overview of Job Responsibilities :
To competently provide or assist in providing information and referral services for recovery related consumer services
To support clients’ recovery efforts
To teach and support harm reduction strategies
To facilitate peer support groups and individual support for medication adherence issues
To assist individuals and / or families in completing applications or various paperwork related to life management; i.e.
medical coverage, housing, disability, etc., when necessary and in a timely manner
To assist with outreach services for program participants in using and accessing needed community and medical services, including arranging or providing transportation.
To provide emotional support, supportive referrals, support system building and assist with adherence issues for medical care
Job Requirements : Education Level - Years of Experience - High school graduate or equivalent. One-year community-based substance use recovery work.
Certified as a Peer Specialist preferred, or completed within the first 6 months of employment (provided by RVCC). CPR Certification preferred and offered by RVCC.
Lived Expertise : Minimum five years recovery and willingness to share this.
Skills / Abilities - Bilingual English / Spanish a plus. Experience and proficiency using Google suites (sheets & docs) and Microsoft suites (excel and word) are required.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills; interpersonal skills; organizational skills; attention to detail; computer skills;
good customer relations skills; knowledge of legal and ethical issues pertaining to the profession.
