Some of our most recognized projects include The Bean, a 110-ton stainless steel sculpture in Millennium Park, the Ledge the glass observatory boxes on the 103rd floor of Willis Tower and the new Apple Flagship Store on Michigan Avenue. We are seeking an experienced Miscellaneous and Architectural Steel Project Manager with extensive knowledge of the design, submittal and approval of shop drawings, material procurement, shop fabrication and erection of all types of metal products used in commercial construction such as, but not limited to, stairs, railings, platforms and overhead supporting structures. Responsibilities Include:
Full project lifecycle ownership: successful project delivery will include full implementation from initiation to deployment for one major or several minor initiatives simultaneously.
Manage all aspects of multiple steel projects.
Work creatively and analytically in a problem-solving environment demonstrating teamwork, innovation and excellence.
Prepare estimates and detailed project plan for all phases of the project
Provide status reporting regarding project milestones, deliverable, dependencies, risk and issues, communicating across leadership.
Support formal/informal schedules to manage the engagement contract
Develop and manage all aspects of project management and program engagement from planning, external vendor relationships, communications, resources, budget, change, risk and issues.
Ensure that projects and programs are proceeding according to scope, schedule, budget and quality standards.
Proven success in providing on site leadership for project team by building and motivating team members to meet project goals, adhering to their responsibilities and project milestones.
Establish practices, templates, policies, tools and partnerships to expand and mature these capabilities for the organization.
Qualifications:
Ten or more years' experience in this or a similar areas of the construction industry
Ability to work with Microsoft Office products including Word, Excel, Outlook
Strong verbal and written communication skills within a team environment
Highly organized and efficient
Ability to operate in a fast-paced environment.
Must be able to pass a 7-year criminal history including misdemeanors and felonies
