Job Title: Registered Nurse - ICU Step-Down
Location: Hackensack, NJ
Duration: 3 Months
Schedule Notes: 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM. Every Other Weekend. Holidays required. No On Call. Must have 1 year of Stepdown.

Job Summary:

• The Registered Nurse is responsible for evaluating patients and assisting physicians with patient care.
• Plans, implements, and documents nursing care based on patient's needs.
• Identifies patient needs and determines priorities for care through assessment, planning, intervention, and evaluation.
• Develops, implements and coordinates individualized plan of care for patients assigned through initial and on-going assessments.
• Initiates assessment based on the patient's problems or needs, the physician's medical diagnosis, and the functional health framework.
• Performs therapeutic nursing interventions. Manages care of patients.
• Documents care based on standards of care and practice, patient acuity, and/or clinical priorities.
• Advocates for evidence-based practice care standards and supports adoption of evidence-based practices and innovations in care delivery.
• Provides patient centric care in alignment with professional nursing practice model.
• Other duties and responsibilities as assigned. Float to units within competency as required. Cardiac Vascular & Post Surgical Stepdown Unit.

Required Skills & Experience:

• Must have 1 year of Stepdown. Experience with vents & trached patients. Experience with Neuro, Trauma and Surgical patient. Telemetry experience.
• Experience with some infusions (Amiodarone, Cardizem, Cardene). Neurological assessments is a plus!
• Float Requirement: Likely not needed, but just in case- equal unit (stepdown/intermediate) or med surg telemetry
• RN must be willing and able to treat and manage patients on unit with a variety of conditions (including but not limited to flu, Covid, heart issues, lung issues, etc).

Preferred Skills & Experience:

• Ventilator.
• Post-surgical experience.
• BSN.

Certifications & Licenses:

• ACLS - AHA
• BLS - AHA
• NIHSS
• RN License
