County of Greenville is Hiring a GIS TECHNICIAN Near Greenville, SC

Maintains and updates maps and related files; identifies, inputs, and edits key data points into the database; revises maps to correct errors and to record various changes to parcels; adds or updates addresses; and updates connected database information. Assists with the manipulation, storage, and retrieval of information in the GIS; designs develop, and edits GIS spatial and tabular database; performs routine analysis and limited spatial queries; and makes suggestions regarding data collection methodologies and data dictionaries for GPS collection. Reviews various site plans, permits, and plats for compliance with ordinances and regulations pertaining to addressing and street names; reviews subdivision projects requiring multiple addressing assignments; seeks clarification from developers, engineers, or others as appropriate to resolve addressing issues; assigns street names, subdivision names and private drive numbers as needed; approves or denies submitted names and subdivision names; and prepares comments for subdivision meetings. Performs other related duties as required. Associate degree in Mapping, Computer-Aided Design, Geographic Information Systems, or a related field required; supplemented by one year of experience in mapping, GIS maintenance, or related field; or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience which provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities for this job. Must possess and maintain a valid South Carolina Driver's License. Salary will depend on education and experience.
