Description

OVERVIEW

Cadrex is searching for a CNC Operator I who will operate both manual and CNC machines according to program and product specifications to produce small to medium sized components as either as a finished product or as part of another larger product to be assembled.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Operates manual machines such as saws, mills, and lathes

Positions parts in specified locations using a variety of fastening devices

Operates hand-held tools, electrical tools, and/or pneumatic tools

Operates lift equipment as needed

Uses precision measuring tools as required

Ability to recognize various material types used in department and adjust equipment if needed

Ability to recognize worn tooling and change in machine as required

Verifies accuracy of completed product or batch inspections

Reports defective materials, discrepancies, process malfunctions or completed products that are not in compliance with company and/or customer specifications to the Department Lead

Maintains the work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition and follows prescribed safety regulations

Completes all necessary paperwork as required, including in process or carbon copy production sheets

Requirements

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Basic understanding of machining principles and CNC machine operations

Mechanical aptitude and a strong interest in CNC machining

Excellent attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work

Basic computer skills for machine operation and data entry

Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to learn and adapt quickly

Effective communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team

Availability to work flexible hours, including evening and weekend shifts as required

Commitment to safety protocols and maintaining a safe work environment

Physical stamina and the ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds

Monday through Friday, 11:00pm to 7:00am

WORK ENVIRONMENT

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts. The employee is occasionally exposed to high places, fumes or airborne particles and toxic or caustic chemicals. The employee is frequently exposed to vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate and may require hearing protection in specific locations.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, sit, use hands and fingers, handle or feel, and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to sit; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, color vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus
