JOB REQUIREMENTS:

Minimally, a bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university. Additionally, we seek a

candidate who possesses:

• Valid Indiana Secondary License in Psychology
• Dual credit credentialed preferred–or willingness to work towards dual credit credentialing.
• Interest in sponsoring/coaching extra-curricular activities preferred

Alternative licensure/qualifications may be considered if the Board finds appropriate need

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

The following responsibilities are required of the position:

• Increase student learning using multiple instructional strategies while teaching multiple

learning modalities.

• Strictly adhere to provisions outlined in students’ IEPs, ILPs, and 504s.
• Be responsible for the classroom instructional program which includes

1. Establishing goals and objectives to meet individual and group needs of students

2. Day to day and long range lesson plans that reflect the goals and objectives

3. Use of technology to enhance instruction

4. Use of authentic assessment methods to evaluate student progress and adjust

teaching to meet individual needs

5. Work cooperatively with other personnel to improve instructional programs and the

overall operation of the school

• Implore effective classroom management within the classroom, using strategies such as

least intervention principle, withitness, overlapping, etc. Establish clear policies and

procedures—and implement those consistently.

• Cooperate in establishing a general tone of behavior throughout the building through the use

of the PBIS framework.

• Foster favorable school/community relationships including, but not limited to:

1. Informing parents of classroom goals, objectives and material

2. Conducting parent conferences

3. Reporting progress of student

• Be responsible for supplies, care of the room, inventories and other reasonable assignments

as prescribed by the Principal.

• Be responsible for accurate record keeping and issuing of grades.
• Strive to meet the social, emotional, physical and intellectual needs of students.
• Be knowledgeable of current educational methods and techniques such as PBL and PBIS as

well as participate in building and system-wide meetings.

• Cooperate and participate in necessary non-teaching duties, such as hallway supervision

during passing periods.

• Knowledge of effective teaching strategies and how to utilize data from multiple sources to

plan (e.g., standardized tests, NWEA, Acuity, etc.).

• Be responsible for upholding adopted School Board and administrative policies—and school

policies.

• All other duties as assigned by the Principal.
