Position Overview
Wetland Studies and Solutions, Inc., a Davey company, is seeking an environmental scientist with three years to five years of experience to join our growing team in our Gainesville, Virginia office. PWS/PWD preferred.
Scope of Work
Including, but not limited to:
•Wetlands Delineation
•Endangered and Threatened Species Studies
•Wetlands Mitigation Monitoring and Site Assessments
•Stream Restoration Monitoring
•Chesapeake Bay Preservation Studies and Approvals
•Other environmentally related studies, as required
•Participating in industry organizations
•Inter-department coordination and communication within WSSI/Davey
•Other tasks and assistance to other departments at WSSI/Davey as needed
Qualifications
Minimum qualifications include a bachelor's degree in environmental science or related field; and working knowledge of environmental regulations pertaining to 401/404 Clean Water Act, Virginia Water Protection (VWP) permit program, NEPA, and Chesapeake Bay Preservation Act.

Strong knowledge of/experience in one or more of the following fields desired:
•plant identification (including trees/shrubs)
•soils

Also required:
•general natural history knowledge/interest
•willingness to travel regionally
