Job Description:
We are seeking a Veterinary Technician / Assistant to join our team in Frisco, TX. The Veterinary Technician / Assistant will be responsible for assisting the veterinarian in providing medical care to animals. Duties may include:
- Assisting with animal exams and procedures
- Administering medications and treatments as directed by the veterinarian
- Performing laboratory tests and analyzing results
- Preparing animals for surgery and monitoring anesthesia
- Cleaning and maintaining equipment and facilities
- 2 year experience
- Good restraint skills
- Comfortable with anesthetic monitoring
- Solid blood draw, catheter placement, and injection abilities
- Strong work ethic
- Rotating Saturday’s availability
- Must be able to lift and restrain up to 40lbs
- Able to pass a background check and a drug test
- Bilingual is a plus!
-Client education- communicate treatment plans, homecare instructions, or appointment information
-Assist the doctor- In appointments, surgery, diagnostics, etc.
-Restrain- safely and securely
-Administer medications- fill take home medications and physically administer medications in the clinic, as well as vaccines.
- Proficient in IV catheter placement, blood draws, intubation and anesthetic pre and post op care.
- Knowledge on operating an Ultrasonic dental scaler.
