ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS :

The following statements are intended as general illustrations of the work in this job class and are not all-inclusive for this position.)

• Responsible for guiding and teaching fly fishing, fly tying, and fly casting to guests at a Forbes Five-Star, AAA Five-Diamond resort.
• Responsible for assisting resort guests with the daily operations of the fly fishing guide service.
• Must be able to communicate well with guests in addition to associates and other members of management.
• Ability to explain to guests the basic aspects of fly fishing.
• Provide instruction to guests in order to facilitate the understanding of techniques for fly tying and fly rod casting.
• Other job duties as assigned.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED :

• Friendly and outgoing personality.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Ability to stand up to 8 hours at a time.
• Must be able to speak the English language fluently.
• Ability to maintain appropriate grooming standards according to organizational policy.
• Previous fly fishing experience / guide experience is preferred.
• A valid driver’s license and a PA fishing license are required.

These skills and abilities are typically acquired through the completion of a high school diploma or equivalent, as well as professional or personal experience.
