Required Qualifications:
Be able to use and understand the dental equipment, instruments, and materials currently at the.
. FCI Correction facility Englewood, 9595 W. Quincy Ave., Littleton, CO 80123.
Will become familiar with FBOP health record forms, their proper scanning, and security.
Provide chair side assistance to the dentist during restorative, prosthodontics, periodontics, endodontic, and oral surgery proced- ures. This will be accomplished in the main clinic and in the satellite treatment rooms located in the lockdown areas.
Operate radiographic equipment, demonstrate proficiency in radiographic techniques, process films and properly mounts them for interpretation. They will demonstrate current knowledge in radiographic safety measures.
Perform screening exams and charts existing conditions under a dentist's, or physicians supervision.
Places transitional restorations in emergency situations.
Take preliminary prosthetic impressions and pour the models.
Remove sutures.
Deliver post-surgical care for alveolitis or persistent bleeding under the supervision of a dentist.
Re-cementation of fixed prosthodontics restorations under the supervision of a dentist.
Is certified to perform Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR).
Has knowledge of Infection Control Techniques.
Will be current in OSHA guidelines affecting the practice of dentistry.
Assist in scheduling patients for the dental clinic via call outs.
Maintain daily statistics of the patients seen in the dental clinic.
Possess a current and valid license/certificate from a United States jurisdiction.
Scanning of medical records and reports as needed.
Other duties as assigned.
The contractor will sign the Institution Contractors Log Located at the front entrance of the Institution; indicating the date of visit to the Institution, the time of arrival and departure and signature of time in and time out for any lunch breaks. This must be done for each visit.
Scheduling Details:
The Contractor shall possess the necessary skills, abilities, and credentials to perform services of a Dental Hygienist.
A current license a Colorado state license in the field of dental/oral hygiene
A current Radiology Certification
Two years of current experience as a Dental Hygienist.
A Valid Driver’s License
Proof of CPR certification

The services performed by the Dental Hygienist shall include but a not limited to:
Completes medical records entries ensuring entries using the electronic medical record (BEMR). Information provided shall be dated, timed, complete, signed authenticated and legible.
Provide in-service training to medical staff on hygiene diets, types of food groups, and quantities for each diet to maintain proper Dental Hygiene.
Shall be knowledgeable of all infection control techniques and be able to apply them.
May handle telephone communication in the dental clinic, make appropriate entries in the dental record, appointment book for prophylaxis, type reports and correspondence, and other general duties recognized as routine in a dental clinic.
Other duties as assigned to include office related functions central to Dental Services.
