ASRC Federal Holding Company is Hiring a Mechanical Engineer (supporting Air Force Research Lab) Near Edwards, CA

Job Description
ASRC Federal requires a highly motivated Aerospace/Mechanical Engineer to support the ASTROS Contract. We are looking for someone with the ability to perform engineering and analysis on the test stands and structures supporting test at the AFRL, then provide detailed reports to our site leadership and customers. We support the testing of incredible propulsion systems at the Air Force Research Laboratory (AFRL) and we are looking for the best people to be a part of this research.
Responsibilities:
  • Receive assignments from Senior Engineer and work to completion providing status updates as needed
  • Work with design software to plan the upgrades to a Test Facility
  • Work with all other disciplines and assist in developing overall Project Schedule
  • Develop work assignments to ensure the build occurs according to plan
  • Must be able to develop relationship with buildup crew and create a strong team environment
  • Work independently and communicate progress

Requirements
  • Strong background in Safe approach to tasks
  • Must have the ability to maintain a professional demeanor.
  • Must have effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Must be able to work with a group through a test cycle from build-up through test shut down.
  • Write and edit test procedures.
  • Provide routine briefings to Senior Engineer, Customers and Program Management of Build Up Progress Status
  • Assist in test readiness prior to receiving customer's permission to test.
  • Must be able to gain access to the customer's computer networks.
  • Must have the ability to maintain a professional demeanor.
    Must have effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Education/Experience
  • Engineering Degree in Mechanical Engineering. Aerospace Engineering or a related Engineering Degree
  • 2 years of experience
  • Technical Writing ability
  • Experience in Engineering design software
  • Demonstrated increase in experience and abilities.
  • Additional Qualifications:
  • Must be able to work at heights and depths.
  • Work overtime with little notification.
  • Must be able to work in extreme heat and extreme cold
  • Must be able to drive a ASTROS leased vehicle
Clearance:
  • Ability to obtain DOD Secret Clearance required
