SUMMARY: Assembles and routes jobs for the Warehouse, loads, unloads, and moves materials within or near plant, yard, or work site, and fills production material needs by performing the following duties:

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Act professional at all times and lead by example.
  • Responsible for overseeing of all personnel working in the area, assisting in training, cross-training and daily job responsibilities and requirements.
  • Familiarity with all procedures that relate to the Warehouse. Must keep up to date with these procedures and submit revisions as necessary. Also responsible for training area personnel in necessary procedures as well as revisions to existing procedures. Help determine if new procedures are necessary and assist in their creation.
  • Oversees all work and personnel in the assigned area.
  • Responsible for time management, capacity needs for area personnel.
  • Responsible for participating in and assisting in personnel reviews and all discipline issues of employees in the assigned area.
  • Assist and train area employees in proper housekeeping using Lean Manufacturing techniques.
  • Maintain the Receiving, UPS Shipping, and “put aways” workflow.
  • Oversee the locating and stocking of received material and maintain the proper bin locations in the database.
  • Assist in maintaining the work schedule to ascertain materials or containers to be moved in order to fulfill “Manufacturing Orders” and balance this workload with put always.
  • Attend daily production meetings in order to understand production’s current priorities while also representing the warehouse’s interests.
  • Run daily reconcile reports for receiving and shipping.(Remove this bullet point)
  • Assist in performing daily cycle count in the “stock count” module, create and conduct cycle count as issues arise with production and various departments. Change to: Assists or provides assistance to daily cycle counting as necessary.
  • Posts all transactions related to inventory, transfers, adjustments, and variances with the basic understanding and concept of rejection tags, view of all sites, and QOH balances. Change to: Verify all posting related to inventory, transfers, adjustments, and variances is completed in a timely manner. This includes a daily review of the warehouse monitor.
  • Need to have a strong understanding and concept of rejection tags, view of all sites, and QOH balances.
  • Research and locate lost parts while also determining root cause of lost material in order to implement corrective actions.
  • Be the Allocations Planner, Receiving, Shipping, and Material Handler backup when needed.
  • Assist in pulling jobs, receiving, and shipping when needed following the warehouse procedures.
  • Loads and unloads materials onto or from pallets, trays, racks, and shelves.
  • Labels or tag items properly.
  • Locate and stock received material rotating the inventory by receipt date following the warehouse procedures.
  • Must be able to operate a forklift and/or electrical powered devices needed for moving material and maintain certification.
  • Input on providing solutions to obstacles, which hinder work efficiency.
  • Assist in organizing the work environment for the department.
  • Works under the guidance of the Warehouse Supervisor on continuous improvement projects within the warehouse.
  • Maintains inventory records.
  • Perform and participate to completion, of the yearly Physical Inventory.
  • Ability to do root cause analysis to prevent problems from reoccurring.
  • Other duties as required.

QUALIFICATIONS: Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Must be familiarized with the standard concepts, practices, and procedures for the warehouse area and performs a variety of tasks. Eager to learn more about the ERP system and performs a variety of tasks. Works under little supervision; reports to the Warehouse Supervisor.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIAONS: Must complete and pass a forklift safety program prior to performing tasks related to warehouse.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

  • High School Graduate or General Education Degree (GED)
  • Five-year work experience in a Warehouse.
  • Two-year experience in material handling.
  • Two-year experience in supervising.
  • Some experience with managing Manufacturer Orders.
  • Moderate level of computer knowledge.

LANGUAGE SKILLS:

  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
  • Ability to write simple correspondence.
  • Ability to speak fluent English.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:

  • Ability to add and subtract two-digit numbers and to multiply and divide by 10’s and 100’s.
  • Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance.

REASONING ABILITY:

  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved instructions furnished in written and oral form.
  • Ability to deal with problems involving a few variables in standardized situations.
