**Job Description:**

The Director - Environment, Health & Safety will lead a team of Environmental Managers who partner with internal business units, the Chief Compliance Office and Legal, to ensure regulatory environmental compliance remains the top priority for AT&T. This position serves as an integral member of the EH&S leadership team, reporting to the AVP EH&S. This team forms the backbone of the EH&S organization in communicating with regulatory agencies, interpreting complex environmental regulations, and collaborating with key stakeholders to maintain compliance. This warrants a director with a strong background in petroleum storage tank systems, air emissions, hazardous waste, water, EPCRA reporting and remediation strategies. This leader should also demonstrate forward-thinking strategic vision, resilience, adaptability.

Key Roles & Responsibilities:

Oversees the development and implementation of environmental compliance programs, leading the organization in EHS risk management, and promoting environmental stewardship at all levels of the company.

Leverage data and stakeholder input to quickly understand financials, operations, and culture to identify opportunities for improvement in performance, how the EH&S brand is perceived, shared accountability for EH&S performance, and understand how to move EH&S resources to enable revenue, where appropriate.

Establish quantifiable operational metrics to support organizational goals and objectives and holds self and team accountable for meeting objectives.

Develop, manage, track and report operational metrics regularly and effectively communicate to leadership, along with insights, to allow for data-driven decision-making.

Work closely with Finance and Sr. Leadership to understand and determine EH&Ss role in addressing financial challenges and how to contribute to optimizing savings while maintaining compliance, minimizing risks, and operating within agreed upon annual budgets.

Experience as a trusted advisor and partner providing guidance to business leaders focused on continuously improving the execution of objectives across programs and projects. Provide expert level guidance to personnel responsible for interfacing with regulatory agencies such as OSHA, EPA, DOT, and other regulating bodies. Demonstrated active engagement in an EH&S organization such as ASSP, NAEM, BCSP, NSC, NREP, NAEP, NASP or similar.

Exudes a highly credible balance of technical leadership and interpersonal skills to exert influence and network at all levels within the company and externally as well.

Demonstrated ability to effectively address and manage underperforming team members with proficiency in conducting crucial conversations with tact and empathy.

Strong commitment to team coaching, promoting professional growth of team members and oneself.

Strong verbal and written presentation skills including the ability to communicate complex matters in a simple way and tailor key messages to multiple audiences. Ability to masterfully tell the story of the value the organization brings.

Demonstrated ability to understands data analytics and use of technology to drive performance and required change across organizations.

Strong financial acumen with a focus on cost and operational efficiency with minimal risk to the business.

Solid knowledge of health & safety discipline with understanding of DART, TRIR, workers compensation reduction strategies.

Education:

Bachelors degree in Environment, Health and Safety field from an accredited college or university. Advanced degree in same preferred.

Experience:

Minimum of ten years related experience, minimum five years supervisory experience.

Environmental Requirements:

This position may be responsible for contributing to AT&Ts compliance with environmental laws and regulations as applicable to its job function. This may include, but is not limited to, work related to fuel tanks, emergency and stand-by generators, boilers, hazardous waste, hazardous materials, batteries, manholes and vaults, water wells, linear and other construction projects, water discharge, or air emissions.

Will have 24/7 responsibility to respond to or guide emergency response.

Typically reports within the General Management level.

Location: Dallas, TX (expected to work in office 3-5 days per week)

Our Director Environmental, Health & Safety Managers earn between $143,800 & $215,800 of TSR. Not to mention all the other amazing rewards that working at AT&T offers. Individual starting salary within this range may depend on geography, experience, expertise, and education/training.
