Harris Waste Management Group is Hiring a Quality Inspector Near Cordele, GA

Harris Waste Management Group, Inc. has an immediate opening for a Quality Inspector. This role is required to perform regular material evaluations; record inspections results, and recommend improvements to the production process. This position reports to the Quality Manager.
Quality Inspector Job Responsibilities:
Maintain quality standards by approving purchased, in-process production, and finished products; recording quality results. The Quality Inspector must ensure that parts are manufactured to engineering design specifications.

Quality Inspector Job Duties:

  • Perform measurements of manufactured components to verify manufacturing specifications have been met.
  • Inspect machined work pieces or product at machine stations or inspection area to ensure conformance to specifications.
  • Measures dimensions such as angles, length, height and distance between reference points using precision equipment such as micrometers, calipers, dial indicators and/or CMM to ensure product specifications.
  • Approves in-process production by confirming specifications; conducting visual and measurement tests; communicating required adjustments to production supervisor.
  • Approves finished products by confirming specifications; conducting visual and measurement tests; returning products for re-work; confirming re-work.
  • Receiving of material from vendor and product when returned from outside processors.
  • Approve incoming materials by confirming specifications; conducting visual and measurement tests; rejecting and returning unacceptable materials.
  • Records inspection results on appropriate forms including discrepancy reports when needed.
  • Documents inspection results by completing reports and logs; summarizing re-work and waste; inputting data into quality database.
  • Review drawing details for accurate documentation of specifications
  • Keeps measurement equipment operating by following operating instructions; calling for repairs.
  • Maintains safe and healthy work environment by following standards and procedures; complying with legal regulations.
  • Read blueprints and specifications.
  • Other duties as assigned by the Quality Manager.

Quality Inspector Skills and Qualifications:

  • Five (5) years of experience working in a precision manufacturing environment operating measuring equipment
  • Ability to read blue prints and understand product specifications and requirements
  • Knowledgeable of machine shop procedures, shop mathematics and inspection techniques.
  • Must have effective communication skills both oral and written.
  • Ability to measure close tolerances

· Must be physically fit to perform inspection work for extended periods of time that may involve sitting, bending, stooping, standing, and repetitive arm, shoulder, and hand movements.

· Must demonstrate good work ethics in attendance, dependability, orderliness and teamwork.
