**Description**
**Position:** *Food and Nutrition Services (FNS) Director*
**FNS** Department, both Administrative and Clinical duties, are carried out accurately and appropriately. Responsibilities **may** also include clinical duties as appropriate.
**Position Highlights:**
* Responsible for overseeing the total operation of the FNS Department.
* Plans, directs, and supervises all FNS functions and partners.
* Responsible for the preparation and service of meals for patients and customers, considering any special diet requirements and individual food preferences. Responsible for obtaining menu approval if not a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN).
* Responsible for food and supply purchases and for maintaining expense records. Responsible for meeting budget guidelines for food, supply, labor, and total budget and participates in budget planning.
* Responsible for equipment purchases, maintaining equipment records, notification to the maintenance department of equipment not operating properly, and in preparation of preventive maintenance sheets.
* Interviews, hires, orients, trains, counsels, disciplines, and when appropriate, terminates FNS partners.
* Schedules work hours and assignments and reviews and checks work assignments.

**Experience**
* At least one year experience in administration is desired; however, it is not required.
* At least one year experience in clinical nutrition is desired; however, it is not required.
* Must possess leadership qualities and be able to supervise and secure the cooperation of the FNS partners.
* Must desire to fulfill the responsibilities of the position, must be at work on time and during scheduled shift.
* Must have or obtain an approved Sanitation Course certification, as required by NHC standards and per state regulations.
* Must be licensed and/or certified as required by specific state guidelines or hold an associates or higher degree in food service management from an accredited institution of higher learning, if not a RDN or if a full-time qualified dietitian is not employed within the facility.
