Agility Partners is seeking qualified applicants to fill an open Data Architect position for a Fortune 15 Healthcare company. This is an exciting opportunity to work in an Innovation lab and be a hands-on leader that will provide technical expertise to guide and mentor development teams on methodologies, processes and best practices on cloud data architectures, data science platforms, event-driven architecture, and API-enabled data services in the healthcare business domain.

* Develop highly scalable and reusable common data services and patterns that are leveraged by our internal development teams/Technical Products and clients to realize our business vision.

* Responsible for articulating and driving aspects of our ecosystems real-time stream messaging data strategy

* Develop and validate the architecture and solution design aligned to critical business capabilities

* Design complex data models and data pipelines across various internal products/systems/tech stacks within the ecosystem to solve problems focused on operational, analytical, and product use-cases

* Identify architectural risks and plans to mitigation risks, adherence to standards and establish best practices in building optimal infrastructure/data structures to support best in class data solutions, dashboards, and reports

* Partner with technical and non-technical colleagues to understand data, auditing/logging and analytical requirements and effectively communicates and influences others towards moving to future state architectures, leading by example

* Assess the data architecture currently in place and work with technical staff to improve it

* Coach and mentor team members to improve their designs and ETL processes

**The Ideal Candidate**

The ideal candidate would bring the following:

* Demonstrated experience designing architectures of complex distributed systems and have lead teams through the development of those systems

* Strong knowledge of architectural principles, frameworks, and best practices for enterprise level solutions

* Experience with Streaming and Real-time Applications and strong understanding of event-based application patterns, streaming data, and experience with related technologies

* Experience in advanced distributed schema and SQL development skills including partitioning for performance of ingestion and consumption patterns

* Strong understanding of data modeling principles including dimensional modeling, data normalization principles etc.

* Expertise implementing and reporting on business KPIs in data warehousing environments

* Familiarity with a polyglot persistence architecture

* 10 years of software development experience with 4 years as a lead developer or architect role

* Experience with healthcare interoperability standards, like HL7 and FHIR a BIG PLUS!

* Programming languages such as Scala, Python, R, Java

* Familiarity with SQL and NoSQL (document, event streaming) modeling patterns

* Experience with traditional relational databases, NoSQL databases and/or distributed systems such as Hadoop/Hive, BigQuery, Redshift

* Hadoop (or similar) Ecosystem (MapReduce, Yarn, HDFS, Hive, Spark, Presto, Pig, HBase)

* Data exploration and data visualization tools such as Looker, Tableau.

* Proficiency in application/platform security
