Reports To: Front of house manager

Position Summary:

The first responsibility of every single employee at Yada is to keep the restaurant clean at all times. Work clean, clean as you go, clean between tasks, clean before and after tasks. Seriously we really mean it.

The Host is also responsible for setting the tone for our guest’s dining experience by creating a warm and welcoming reception. The Host greets guests, quotes and maintains the wait, and manages the efficient and timely seating of guests at a table that meets their needs. The Host sets the pace for the restaurant and helps to control the pace in the kitchen. The Host is often called upon to balance an assortment of priorities during their shift and should embrace the teamwork philosophy. This position is the Yada Ambassador and needs a strong working knowledge of the menu, history, and culture.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Clean!
• Warm and graciously greet all guests immediately upon their arrival
• Seat guests with menus and provide them with their server’s name
• Quote accurate wait times and maintain the wait list
• Ensure guest comfort while waiting and help to keep them entertained
• Initiate solutions to guest problems
• Follow proper server rotation procedures
• Assist with answering phone calls
• Communicate levels of business consistently to all departments
• Complete all assigned opening, closing and running duties
• Monitor condition of restrooms throughout the shift
• Acknowledge and thank all guests as they depart
• Other duties as needed

Job Qualifications:

• Strong interpersonal skills
• Past experience working as a team and demonstrating success in building relationships
• Able to read and speak English
• Able to perform physical activities including, but not limited to, standing for long periods of time, climbing, walking, bending, reaching, stooping and lifting up to 20 lbs.
• Must be able to work different shifts, including holidays, nights and weekends. Must be able to work overtime as required.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $9.00 - $10.00 per hour

Expected hours: No more than 25 per week
