IT Procurement Category Manager (Strategic Sourcing) – Contract

KPMG Assignment Select is geared toward independent professionals interested in temporary or project-based work. Our team is comprised of highly trained third-party professional individuals who are in the right place, at the right time, with the right skillset.

KPMG is working through its partnership with Magnit and is currently seeking a remote contractor based in the Charlotte area.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide sourcing category expertise in IT Professional Services and outsourcing, develop category strategies based on rigorous analysis of spend data, supply market dynamics, category intelligence, and business requirements
  • Leverage market data, external resources, spend analytics, and cost modeling to drive fact-based decision making and identify cost improvement opportunities beyond sourcing, such as demand management, process improvements, insource vs. outsource, innovation, and more
  • Execute strategic sourcing projects using common sourcing practices to deliver exceptional total value in partnership with key stakeholders across the Firm
  • Manage RFX processes and facilitate fact-based supplier selection and perform complex data analysis and build financial models such as ROI, NPV, supplier scorecards, savings tracking, make vs. buy decision models
  • Develop and execute negotiation strategies to maximize total value and minimize risks, Implement, and drive procurement strategy, policies, and procedures to support supplier diversity and sustainability goals
  • Work with legal and other areas to ensure proper representation and enforcement of critical terms and conditions, establish, and manage the governance processes with key suppliers and outsourced partners
  • Implement strategies to best manage the supply base for the IT professional services category, reviewing suppliers against contracted obligations/service levels, risk requirements & business expectations
  • Provide suppliers feedback on performance, continuous improvement, and innovation and work with suppliers and key stakeholders to manage supplier performance and develop new capabilities, also when performance issues are identified, determine root cause and work with internal stakeholders and suppliers to drive to an efficient resolution
  • Ability to build strong trusting relationships with business partners and partner with the business to build influence, evaluate and challenge the status quo, educate and enforce compliance to procurement policies and ensure adoption

Qualifications:

  • Minimum five years of related work experience in sourcing, contract negotiation, supplier management, outsourcing, and project management experience demonstrating success in positions of increasing complexity; combination of management consulting and line role experience preferred
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college/university; master’s degree from an accredited college/university is preferred
  • Proficiency in Microsoft applications: Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Access; solid organizational and time management & project management skills and the ability to execute on multiple projects, RFXs and contract negotiations simultaneously
  • Experience with purchasing systems including e-Sourcing, contract management and e-RFP tools; ability to work effectively with suppliers, project team members, project sponsors, functional leads, and senior management
  • Strong interpersonal, collaborative, and influencing skills to effectively navigate a complex management and organization structure with a high degree of ambiguity
  • Demonstrated analytical, financial, problem solving, organization, and project management skills to include stakeholder and meeting facilitation skills, as well as ability to lead, support and conduct successful negotiations
  • In-depth understanding of contract terms and techniques for driving value and managing

Pay is determined based on a variety of factors including market data, ranges, applicant's skills and prior relevant experience, certain degrees and certifications (e.g. JD, technology), and specific location, for example. Additionally, applicants may be required to apply and become employed by a service provider utilized by KPMG, and final pay rate(s) and/or eligibility for additional benefits may be determined by such provider.

$55 - $60 hourly (USD)
