We are looking for an experienced **BUYER** to join our team in the Procurement/Purchasing Department at OTTO. **JOB SUMMARY: Coordinates and performs activities for procuring goods and services such as raw materials, parts, tools, and supplies for our plastic injection molding manufacturing plants.** **Purchasing:**

* Determines method of procurement such as direct purchase or bid.

* Prepares purchase orders or bid requests.

* Reviews bid proposals and negotiates contracts within budgetary limitations and scope of authority.

* Coordinate material supply line for sub-contractors.

* Monitor Purchases of Maintenance items

* Maintains procurement records such as items or services purchased costs, delivery, product quality or performance, and inventories.

* Assist Accounts Payable with invoicing discrepancies.

* Approves invoices for payment.

* Participates in the implementation, maintenance, and improvement of the Company quality system.

**Supplier Management:**

* Maintains Supplier base and company owned tools to ensure continuity of supply for the manufacturing plant and its sub-contractors.

* Maintain supplier score cards.

* Maintain approved Vendor list.

* Conduct annual supplier surveys; drive annual cost reductions from suppliers.

* Qualify new suppliers, resource/de-source suppliers.

* Expedites open orders. Discusses defective or unacceptable goods or services with inspection or quality control personnel, users, vendors, and others to determine source of trouble and take corrective action.

* Maintain reporting matrixes per direction of Purchasing/Materials Manager

**Inventory:**

* Monitor raw material/purchased components inventory.

* Determine Kanban levels to minimize safety stock.

* Monitor consignment levels.

* Adjust Min/Max levels as required.

* Standardize inventory items. Use Lean to drive Continuous Improvement.

* Maintain inventory levels per direction of the Purchasing/Materials Manager

* Review Schedules and maintain constant communication with Scheduling regarding future orders to ensure an uninterrupted supply line while keeping inventory levels to a minimum

* Participate in physical inventories.

* Any other duties as assigned by manager.

* Ability to work autonomously with very limited supervision as well as collaboratively with others and be able to meet deadlines.

* Excellent verbal, written, and presentation communication skills. This includes the ability to build and deliver presentations that effectively explain complex issues and concepts in simple, understandable language.

**EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:**

* Bachelors degree in Supply Chain, Business, or related field

* 3 to 5 years work experience in purchasing, preferably in a manufacturing environment.

* Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)

* ERP systems experience

* SAP by Design preferred
