**Job Description:**

Bard Manufacturing Company, Inc., a leading manufacturer of commercial heating and air conditioning systems, has an opening for a MRO Buyer at our corporate office in Bryan, OH.

**Scope and Responsibilities:**

The MRO Buyer executes sourcing, procurement, and supplier management activities, and projects in areas such as direct & indirect materials, business services, new product development, facility support operations, contract negotiation, cost savings initiatives, and supplier quality communications.

Duties include, but are not limited to:

* Review purchasing requisitions, establish sourcing plan, quote, negotiate, issue and manage purchase orders for assigned projects and/or suppliers.

* Prepare and send RFQ for commodity projects; conduct bid analysis, negotiations, contract and supplier development as needed

* Coordinate MRO purchasing with plant personnel and manufacturers for 3 facilities (includes quoting, ordering and tracking of MRO items).

* Track and create catalogue items in ARM for repetitive purchases

* Negotiates price and delivery of standard MRO items.

* Develop process for initiating contract renewal at term (copiers, trash, gas, etc.)

* Work with other Buyers and cross-functional team members to support product development, supplier quality, projects and continuous improvements.

* Support purchasing strategies to achieve Quality, Cost, and Delivery (QCD) performance objectives to improve operational profitability.

* Establish strong relationships with key strategic suppliers and leverage fact-based negotiation tactics to achieve cost targets.

* Backup to Materials Assistant and/or raw material Buyers

* Aptitude to manage purchasing for multiple locations

* Utilize competencies to mitigate and manage risks

* Facilitate materials cost reduction strategies.

* Internally audits and ensures the achievement of quality objectives commensurate with Bards quality policy, which assures continued ISO certification

* Improve processes in the areas of strategic sourcing, cost modeling, and supplier quality development

* Responsible for researching, recommending, planning, leading and implementing system and process improvements

* Work on assignments that are moderately complex in nature where judgment is required in resolving problems and making routine recommendations

* Ability to learn and understand technical details as they relate to different materials utilized in the construction of Bard products

* Design, create and manipulate presentations, spreadsheets, reports, documents, communication, and other material as needed

* Contribute to internal training and provide support to requisitioners across the business on supplier creation and amendment, purchase requisitioning and other procurement processes.

* Supports Finance team with regard to invoice and receiving discrepancies.

* Supports Safety Department by providing data used for Tier II reporting

* Responsible for tracking SDS-trackable purchases and obtaining SDS information from suppliers

**Experience and Skills:**

The successful candidate will possess the following skills and abilities:

* Bachelors degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, or related field

* 2-5 years purchasing and material planning/scheduling experience in a manufacturing environment with MRP

* Knowledge and experience with Continuous Improvement, Six Sigma, Lean certification a plus, but not required.

* Knowledge of operations, scheduling and purchasing procedures, MRP systems and their processes, and supply chain best practices.

* Practical knowledge of purchasing and supply chain strategies

* Takes a proactive approach to problem solving and planning; identifies opportunities and proposes solutions

* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

* Resourceful team player, but self-driven and able to be effective independently

* Ability to exercise discretion and independent judgment with minimal supervision.

* Demonstrates a sense of urgency; can achieve goals and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment

* Strong business orientation.

* Strong interpersonal verbal and written communication skills with both technical and non-technical staff.
