The Plant Manager/Engineer assumes overall responsibility including themanaging a high speed canning operation running multiple lines. Provideleadership and direction that result in excellence in productivity while maintainingwellbeing of all plant operations. The manager will also assume the responsibilityfor inspecting the machines and equipment for conformance to operationalstandards, implement procedures design to improve the canning manufacturingoperations. Knowledge of diagnosis and troubleshooting of all equipment plusmust have strong knowledge of canning machinery, automatic case packing andprocessing/blending equipment in order to maximize productioncapacity/efficiency. Canning and Thermal Processing experience a plus.
- Must possess good project management skills and initiative in taking on and completing projects.
- Designing and developing manufacturing procedures, process efficiency and operator safety.
- Providing production line support, including, but not limited to, implementing process.
- Utilizing LEAN, Six Sigma and other best practice tools and principles for the day-to-day
- problem solving and continuous improvement.
- Work with manufacturing and quality departments during the concept, prototyping a release of
- new products.
- Generating and modifying manufacturing process documentation and assuring that manufacturing
- processes and related documentation follow established policies and procedures.
- Safeguards company equipment assuring conformance to all machinery manufacturers specific
- criteria.
- Prepares capital projects developing cost, layout and solicits competitive bids for evaluation.
- Direct charge of the overall Company’s Monthly Safety Programs and initiatives.
- Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering preferred or equivalent
- combination of education and experience.
- With experience in high-speed food machinery and good understanding of PLC, Preventive
- Maintenance experience.
- Allen Bradley programing experience is required: Studio 5000, RSlogix 5000 and 500, Rockwell
- Factory talk.
- Software as a plus: Ignition 7.9 or later, OPC systems.net, SQL, Manager Plus, Clarinet, Nice
- label, AutoCAD.
- Loma and Mettler Toledo Inspection equipment experience, Video Jet printers
- 5 plus years of directly related experience.
- Good mechanical, analytical, and technical skills
- Ability to multi-task and balance priorities while maintaining a high level of attention to detail.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus.
