Requirements
• High school diploma or GED equivalent
• A minimum of three (3) years of experience at a hospital pharmacy or retail pharmacy is preferred
• Registered New York State Licensed Pharmacy Technician
• Team player
• Strong ability to communicate effectively with patients, healthcare providers and Pharmacy staff.
• Strong problem solving skills and attention to details.
• Strong ability to deliver excellent pharmacy services.
• Easily adapt to new roles and accept responsibilities which improve patient care process.
• Knowledge of brand and generic medication names
• Knowledge of medication dosage calculations
• Good time management skills
• Excellent customer service skills
• Skills in order entry
• Knowledge of claims submissions/adjudications/ troubleshooting
• General computer skills, typing, navigating applications
• Preferred Prime Rx experience or quick learner
• Skills in inventory control, records maintenance and Point of Sale
• Efficiency in prescription filling and labeling
- Knowledge of sterile compounding is preferred
Job Description
Under the direction of the Outpatient Pharmacy Manager and a licensed pharmacist, assists and supports the pharmacist in the dispensing and Pharmacy Department activities not requiring the professional judgment of a licensed pharmacist.
Special Requirements
NYS Registered Pharmacy Technician
Support outpatient pharmacy services by serving as an intermediary between hospital clinics and outpatient pharmacy.
Work alongside clinical teams to educate patients on pharmacy services and assist in benefits investigations and prior authorization processes.
Follow up with patients on refill reminders and adherence check-ins
The Brooklyn Hospital Center provides a salary range to comply with the New York City Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements.
The salary range for the role is $46,000 to $52,000
annually.
The salary range or contractual rate listed is subject to applicable differentials for experience, certification, or education.
