IBA - Inquilinos Boricuas en Acción is Hiring a Grant Writer Near Boston, MA

The Grant Writer will conduct funder prospect research on a regular basis. The Grant Writer reports to IBA's Chief Development Officer.Fundraising & Sustainability
  • Takes a strategic approach to aligning IBA's key programs and initiatives to funding opportunities for renewal and acquisition of corporate, foundation and public grants
  • Manages all stages of funding proposal for assigned funders and prospects including outreach to grant-makers, letters of inquiry, online applications, formal proposals and grant reports.
  • Forecasts annual, quarterly and monthly revenue, as well as donor renewal and acquisition, utilizing Salesforce for constituent relationship management.
Relationship Management
  • Serves as relationship manager for assigned portfolio through letters, personal visits, phone calls, and personalized acknowledgements to achieve continued donor engagement.
  • Works collaboratively with CDO, agency program, evaluation and finance staff in the development and submission of proposals, reports and grant budgets.
  • Cultivates new private and public sector funders by arranging site visits and other engagement opportunities with program/giving officer
  • Researches potential corporations, foundations, and government sources of funding.
  • Works with Chief Development Officer, Chief Program Officer, Chief Operating Officer, and Finance staff on grant prioritization and strategy.
Administrative Support
  • Supports the Chief Development Officer with stewardship of funders and other duties related to resource development.
  • Organizes and manages electronic files of all fundraising documents (grants, reports, letters, etc.)
  • Manages compliance for grants
  • Manages grant acknowledgements in collaboration with the department Coordinator.
  • Organizes materials for submits proposals.
  • Miscellaneous office work including but not limited to photocopying and filing of documents.
  • Participate fully in staff and support org's community and fundraising events.
  • Other duties as assigned
Database
  • Daily enters and updates grant information in Salesforce (funder info, call reports, proposals, funds raised, deadlines, tasks, etc)
  • Generates and disseminates fundraising reports from Salesforce including tailored reports for Program Directors and Executive Team.
Skills/Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in related field i.e. nonprofit management, business, communications etc. preferred
  • 2-5 years of experience in grant granting, proposal development, preparation, and writing, including budget preparation and submission to federal and state agencies, foundations, and/or corporations preferred.
  • Minimum 2 years experience in grant writing and research including preparation and submission to federal and state agencies, foundations and corporations.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; bilingual Spanish-English, preferred.
  • Proficiency with MS Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook); Google Drive, internet research skills; Salesforce experience preferred.
  • Strong administrative, organizational skills attentive to details; able to manage multiple tasks accurately and meet deadlines.
  • Outstanding project management skills, with the ability to drive complex, multi-faceted projects forward to deliver results on time.
  • Advance problem-solving and decision-making skills and the ability to multi-task and handle a high-pressure environment with timeline pressures.
  • Good moral character, mature judgment and a strong sense of responsibility and dedication.
  • Very positive and enthusiastic style capable of motivating others
  • Experience working in an urban community with diverse population.
  • Able to manage grant compliance.
  • Customer service-oriented; Able to work a flexible schedule
  • CORI Requirement
COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS$69,000 annualized salary. Benefits include health dental and vision insurance; Flexible Spending Account (FSA); a generous HRA plan provided by IBA ($9,100 or $18,200 based on single or family coverage) for out-of-pocket medical expenses. 403b plan with annual employer contribution; generous amount of paid time off.
