Qualifications* you will bring to the table:
  • An accredited professional degree in Landscape Architecture or related field of study or equivalent experience
  • 5 years of design experience in the landscape design
  • Professional licensure required
  • Intermediate knowledge of Auto CADD, Land F/X, Sketchup, Enscape, Lumion, Bluebeam, Outlook, Microsoft Office, Adobe Suite and other software options prevalent in the landscape architecture industry
  • Mathematical skills, planting design, knowledge of irrigation systems, basic knowledge of civil design, understanding of sustainable design, basics of codes
  • Strong written, verbal, visual and graphic communication skills
  • Work in various roles on diverse projects often at the same time
  • Knowledge of building codes and construction practices
  • Knowledge of project management and team collaboration skills

As a Team Member at Cushing Terrell, you will*…
  • Compile and analyze data on conditions such as location, drainage, and location of structures for site analysis and landscaping plans
  • Confer with clients, engineering personnel, and architects on all projects stages from conceptual design to construction documents
  • Collaborate on design criteria with the design team or project manager and under their supervision, prepare and change drawings
  • Coordinate preliminary cost estimates, provide basic code research and develop preliminary budget and/or cost estimate for project
  • Plan layouts of projects and integrate engineering elements into unified design for client review and approval
  • Electronically draft plans, elevations, sections, and details under the direction of the Project Manager
  • Review project drawings and prepare feedback for project team
  • Collaborate with workers from multiple disciplines engaged in preparing drawings and specification documents
  • Prepare site plans, specifications, and cost estimates for land development, coordinating arrangement of existing and proposed land features and structures
  • Prepare scaled drawings and contract documents for building contractors
  • Inspect landscape installations to ensure compliance with specifications, approve quality of materials and work, and advise client and construction personnel
  • Administer construction contracts on projects and conduct on-site observation of work during construction to monitor compliance with plans, including administration of addendums, substitutions, change orders, and reviews submittals
  • Prepare studies and reports
  • Carry out project coordination responsibilities in accordance with company policies and applicable laws
  • Begin to develop external and internal client relationships
  • Assist in preparing proposals
  • Participate in project interviews for firm-wide projects
  • The majority of the time a person in this role will be sitting in an office with limited physical requirements. This may require individuals to bend, stretch, twist, and reach. On occasion, individuals will be required to visit a client site to perform site verifications and field surveys.
Your payThe salary for this position is based on the location/s posted. If you are a candidate living outside of (this region/these regions), we still encourage you to apply as salary ranges may differ across states/cities/job markets.
  • Expected Range*: $60,000 to $85,000
  • The position is also eligible for an annual performance bonus
  • The actual salary offered for the role will be determined based on a variety of factors including but not limited to; years of experience, licensure status, location, level of job-related knowledge, and other job-related factors (as permitted by law).
