Cost Accountant - Free Parking in Baltimore!

• Due to a project, they are hiring a temporary Cost Accountant in their Baltimore area office.
• Position is in-office and the schedule is Monday - Friday 8am-5pm. FREE PARKING!

Overview of the Cost Accountant role:

• Perform key monthly closing activities relating to inventory control and product costing.
• Ensure accuracy of inventory on the balance sheet and cost of goods sold in the income statement.
• Maintain perpetual inventory by monitoring cycle count programs, coordination and leadership for physical inventory counts.
• Analyze variances and collaborate across departments to implement corrective actions when needed.
• Ensure processes are implemented to correctly capture manufacturing costs in the period incurred.
• Conducts gross margin analysis for management review.

Preferred Qualifications for the Cost Accountant:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting
• 3-5 years' accounting experience
• Manufacturing experience is a plus
• Concur is a plus
• Proficient in Excel
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
