Maine Public Employees Retirement System (MainePERS) seeks a Specialist for each discipline to join our Retirement Services team. This position serves the members by supporting the processing and accuracy of work focused on benefit-related tasks. In addition to the functions and competencies associated with the Pension Associate III classification, this position also includes the general oversight of the day-to-day work of the business unit and functions as a resource and subject matter expert for the associates and clerks. This includes running reports and queries for payroll deadline and working to resolve member issues. This position reports to the Business Unit Leader, works in close collaboration with them, and is expected to contribute to efforts to build and maintain a positive culture in the unit. The Specialist supervises the day-to-day work of the assigned unit; may lead and/or work closely in an advisory capacity with other staff members or teams within the Division.
