USMD is Hiring a Radiology/CT Tech -Full Time Friday - Sunday $8k Retention Bonus Near Arlington, TX
Hours: Saturday & Sunday 7am - 7pm Job Purpose: Under the direction of the department manager or supervisor, performs interpretive, patient care, and technical functions to insure proper radiologic diagnosis of patients. Minimum Requirements: Education & Qualifications : Must be a graduate of an accredited two-year radiologic technology program Required Licenses/Certifications : CMRT by the Texas Medical Board, ARRT, BLS certifications required Work Experience: 6 months to 1 year radiology experience required with preference in hospital setting. Fluoroscopy experience required at the Arlington Hospital. Essential Job Responsibilities: • Demonstrates the ability to perform specific competencies as listed on the competency validation checklist. • Receives and reviews request for radiologic studies • Accepts patients and assesses their condition to determine proper handling and special requirements • Identifies patient service requirements by establishing personal rapport with potential and actual patients and other persons in a position to understand service requirements. • Operates highly complex radiographic equipment within the radiology department, operating suites and at the patient's bedside, selecting technical factors to ensure high-quality radiographs using the A.L.A.R.A. (As low as reasonably achievable) standards. • Explain and prepare the patient for all radiographic and fluoroscopic procedures • Interview patients and review available clinical data from charts to alert nurses and or physicians to possible contradictions for procedure • Relies on extensive knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and effects of disease processes to properly and safely position the patient for maximum diagnostic yield. • Maintains radiographic equipment and x-ray room in proper working condition. Reports malfunctions and necessary repairs to supervisory personnel. • Maintains radiology supplies inventory by checking stock to determine inventory level, anticipating needed supplies, placing and expediting order for supplies, verifying receipt of supplies. • Attends all mandatory education programs and can describe his/her responsibilities related to general safety and regulatory compliance • Attends all required department-specific education and training programs and can describe his/her responsibilities related to department safety and specific job related hazards. • Follows the hospital exposure control plans/blood borne and airborne pathogens. • Demonstrates proper body mechanics in all functions • Wears proper identification while on duty Perform other duties as assigned
