Job Summary
The Part-time Senior Research Associate will lead field and lab-based research associated with a grant-funded project evaluating functionality of green Infrastructure installations along Interstate 95 in Philadelphia. This project began in 2016 and has received numerous extensions. The current budget period ends in October and an extension is expected. The Senior Research Associate will manage day-to-day research activities under the broad direction of the Principal Investigator (PI) at all phases of research. They will be solely responsible for installation and maintenance of sensor systems and planning of field excursions. They will lead project coordination for data collection, plant and soil collection, sample preparation, and analysis.
The Senior Research Associate will also enter data into the database, prepare tabular and graphical summaries and will be responsible for sections in the in the periodic reports to funder. The Tyler School of Art and Architecture - Architecture and Environmental Design Department Senior Research Associate will collaborate with other researchers in the College of Engineering and the Earth and Environmental Sciences Department in the College of Science and Technology. They will meet with funders and present findings, along with the PI at meetings and conferences. The Senior Research Associate will work primarily on Ambler Campus. Work will also occur at various field sites and on Temple Main Campus. The Senior Research Associate must be able to drive and have a vehicle that can provide transportation to field sites.

NOTE: This is a grant-funded position.
Required Education and Experience
* Bachelor's degree
* 1-2 years of experience in horticulture, botany, plant science or an allied field.
* Experience in a lab setting.
* An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
Preferred Education
* PhD
Required Skills and Abilities
* Established ability to autonomously manage day-to-day research activities, such as: designing and planning research studies, and overseeing general data collection.
* Ability to monitor and manage a budget.
* Outstanding written and verbal communication skills.
* Outstanding data analysis and visualization skills.
* Demonstrated organizational and problem solving skills and ability to exercise sound independent judgement.
* Ability to multi-task and be detail-oriented in a dynamic work environment.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
* Ability to travel to work sites, lift 50lbs and conduct field work in all types of weather.
