Southwest Women’s Oncology is an Integrated Team of Healthcare Professionals. We are seeking an energetic Physician Assistant/Nurse Practitioner to join our team of caregivers that offers a safe, caring, and curative experience for our patients. Responsibilities:
Work closely in a collaborative environment with MD and Advanced Care Providers to see patients in the office, hospital, and surgical settings.
Provide outpatient gynecologic care including annual and health maintenance exams, Oncologic exams as well as problem visits which may include STD checks, contraception, menopause, breast disease, AUB, as well as hormone pellet therapy. Procedures could include EMBs, IUD placements, Nexplanon placement, colposcopies, pellet placement, aesthetic procedures, and more.
Performs an accurate history and physical examination of patients. Conducts comprehensive or episodic health assessments and develops patient care plans.
Performs procedures according to the clinical delineation of privileges. Provides prevention strategies and management of acute and chronic health problems. Orders and interprets tests, treatments, and therapies within the scope of practice.
Provides clear, concise, and accurate documentation regarding patient care in the medical record.
Provides education to patients, families, and significant others using established education materials.
Acts as a resource for clinical staff in the practice setting.
Leads multidisciplinary and integrative teams within the practice and community to provide integrated delivery of patient care services.
Acts as a surgical first assist to the clinic's gynecologic oncologist's and gynecologists.
Rounds on inpatients at local and regional hospitals as assigned.
Participates in the educational experiences of PA students, medical students, residents, and other health care disciplines.
Qualifications:
Previous experience as a physician assistant or other medical fields is not required but is preferable.
Familiarity with medical tools and equipment
Ability to build rapport with patients.
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
