Minimum qualifications:

• At least 5 years of supervisory experience
• Minimum of a bachelor's degree - preferably in finance or business
• Experience in procurement and writing/reviewing contracts
• Experience working with MWBE and Veteran owned vendors preferred
• Strong knowledge of financial analysis, cost containment, negotiation skills, supplier and vendor management

The New York State Senate is seeking a full-time Deputy Procurement Officer. The Deputy Procurement Officer conducts and oversees all procurement operations and contract administration for the Senate. They will coordinate with the Attorney General’s office, the Comptroller’s office of Audit and Control, and Office of General Services in processing orders, bids, contracts and agreements. Prepare reports and maintain records of all transactions. This person will also oversee a staff of Purchasing Agents, Purchasing Clerks, and a Deputy Procurement Officer.
Managing the entire procurement process, the Deputy Procurement Officer will also:

• Ensure Senate policies are followed
• Negotiate with suppliers
• Spearhead profitable vendor partnerships
• Ensure compliance with applicable Government Procurement Regulations and Guidelines

This position is based in Albany, NY with a salary range of $85,000 to $100,000 per year, commensurate with education and experience.
