Webster Early Learning Center is Hiring a Pre-K Co-Teacher Near York, PA

$15/ Hr Minimum to Start

Webster Early Learning Center is currently accepting resumes for a Pre-Kindergarten co-teacher position. Monday-Friday 8:30-5:30

WELC's Responsibilities:

1. Teachers are responsible for general classroom management and supervision, which includes the personal care, hygiene, and positive discipline of the children. Teachers will model positive guidance and effective classroom management to maintain the safety and well-being and attention of all children.

2. Teachers will prepare and implement activities for children that stress physical, social, and emotional growth and provide materials and resources for children to explore, manipulate, and use, both in learning activities and in active play. Teachers will organize program materials for lessons and activities, as well as document attendance, incidents and other observations.

3. Teachers will utilize the Creative Curriculum as well as Teaching Strategies Gold for progress monitoring and evaluations. Teacher will prepare and implement lesson plans in accordance with the PA Early Learning Standards.

4. Teachers will actively partner and communicate with parents in order to provide the best care for their children. Teachers will research and coordinate community events and activities that enrich the curriculum and family engagement.

DHS Requirements:

1. Applicant must provide proof of high school diploma, GED or degree.

2. Applicant must have 2 years of documented experience working with children.

3. Applicant must obtain 4 clear background checks.

4. Applicant must obtain a physical and TB test.

WELC's Requirements:

1. Love working with children with an innate sense of wanting to help children succeed everyday

2. Patience of Mother Theresa, Gandhi, The Dalai Lama and the Pope all rolled into one.

3. You must have a warm, smiling face that makes every child feel special and loved.

4. You will have a little bit of quirkiness. If a child asks you to be the captain of a pirate ship, you will be the best pirate captain you can be.

5. Knowledge of Frozen, Minions, Spiderman, Ariel, Peppa Pig, Thomas the Tank Engine, Octonauts and Sofia the First would be advantageous.

6. You must be able to distribute hugs, as required.

7. You must be prepared for a lot of fun in the workplace. Laughter is something you can expect to engage in for a large part of your working day.

8. The ability to rapidly count the heads of numerous moving small people is of utmost importance.

9. Showing a curiosity and interest in creepy crawlies is essential, even if they are your biggest fear, no joke.

10. Finally, you must be prepared to feel loved, special, and important to many young children and their families. There is simply no other job like this one.
