Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- Responsible for security of building, contents of building, and the well-being of building occupants. Must hold scheduled fire evacuation drill monthly and orient new residents and staff to evacuation procedures and coordinate facility needs.
- Conduct intakes and determine eligibility for shelter. Provide orientation to new residents, clearly articulating its procedures including evacuation procedures.
- Answer hot line as needed.
- Meet with new shelter residents within 24 hours of entry into the shelter to develop service plan.
- Work to provide support services, nondirective counseling, information and referrals.
- Track progress of residents.
- Assist residents with transportation when appropriate to appointments.
- Develop a network of resources and support systems for those victims of domestic violence who may no longer meet the eligibility requirements for public assistance.
- On call per monthly schedule.
- Attend all meetings and trainings as required.
- Complete required documentation daily.
- Recruit, train, supervise, schedule and evaluate Resident Counselors to maintain 24-hour coverage.
- Responsible for maintaining statistics and reports as required by grants, funding sources, and the Director of Residential Services.
- Order supplies and food for shelter.
- Required to lift or move materials of average weight.
- Maintain confidential materials associated with the agency’s clients and files.
- Assure that services are of the highest quality and operate from a trauma- based perspective.
- Other duties as required or assigned.
Must complete PCAR/PCCD/PCADV advocate training within 90 days of employment. Provided by YWCA York.
