ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES - Accountable for overseeing projects, repairs, improvements, mold changes, and preventative maintenance on the production line. - Ensure safe and proper operation of all production and related equipment. - Enhance the efficiency, reliability, and overall condition of production equipment. - Propose, plan, and execute repairs, modifications, and fabrications to address problems or enhance productivity. - Analyze and resolve equipment-related issues. - Maintain cleanliness of equipment and surrounding areas after repairs or maintenance. - Assist in enhancing the equipment preventative maintenance program. - Communicate equipment condition to the supervisor. - Train production employees in machine conversions and preventative maintenance. - Collaborate with other maintenance employees for equipment repairs, preventative maintenance, installations, commissioning, and testing. - Maintain an adequate stock of spare parts and ensure the parts catalog is up-to-date and the parts room is organized. - Keep tools in good and safe condition and return them to their designated locations. - Ensure proper storage of the toolbox after each job, keeping it clean. - Provide guidance to production employees for machine conversions and preventative maintenance. - Be flexible regarding overtime and vacation coverage. - Maintain the HazMat area's cleanliness and proper waste disposal. - Ensure the PM cart is well-stocked and organized. - Perform all duties safely and efficiently, including system room checks, Pressco checks, daily shop housekeeping, and Video jet daily preventative maintenance. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: - Ability to organize work effectively within established schedules. - Conduct work in a manner that reflects positively on oneself, the maintenance department, and Amcor. - Possess provincial/industrial mechanic certification. - Proficiency in hydraulic and pneumatic systems. - Basic knowledge of electricity and control systems. - Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English. - Capable of standing and walking on concrete floors for extended periods. - Quick and accurate coordination in a high-output production area. - Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-quality manufacturing environment. - Willingly accept other duties or role changes as requested by the Shift Supervisor. - Comply with safety equipment and personal protective equipment requirements. - Contribute to good housekeeping practices and maintain maintenance areas and stock rooms. Physical Requirements: - Regularly required to sit, stand, or walk, and frequently reach, stoop, kneel, and climb stairs. - Maintain awareness of sounds in the plant and be awake and alert during all work hours. - Occasional lifting and/or moving of items weighing up to 75 pounds. QUALIFICATIONS To excel in this role, an individual must perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodations can be made for individuals with disabilities. EDUCATION An associate's degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school; or five years of related experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. LANGUAGE SKILLS Proficiency in reading, analyzing, and interpreting business literature, professional journals, technical procedures, or government regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Effective communication with various groups. MATHEMATICAL SKILLS Ability to calculate figures, such as discounts, interests, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Application of basic algebra and geometry concepts. REASONING ABILITY Capability to solve practical problems and address various concrete variables in situations with limited standardization. Interpretation of instructions in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
