The City of Wylie is seeking Maintenance Workers for all divisions within Public Works. The selected applicant will perform manual labor and related work as required.
When assigned to Streets : uses tools and equipment required to maintain, repair, and construct street, drainage, and alley systems.
When assigned to Water or Wastewater : performs installation, maintenance and repair of water distribution and wastewater collection systems.
Supervision is provided by the appropriate supervisor, based upon assigned department.
Staff in Public Works work four ten hour days, Monday through Thursday. Closed on Friday.
Essential Job Functions
Operates vehicles according to rules of safety and laws of the State of Texas. Uses proper safety precautions at all times and wears proper safety equipment at all times.
Follows safety regulations, City and department policies and procedures.

Minimum Job Requirements
High School Diploma or equivalent. Valid Driver's License. Must have Texas Driver's License within 60 days of hire. Preferred experience varies based on division assignment.
Completion of National Incident Management System (NIMS) training courses as outlined by Emergency Management after hire.
Specific licenses and certifications vary based on division assigned; the list below is not to be considered all-inclusive.
