Automation Design Engineer
Pieper Automation is expanding and is looking for an experienced Automation Design Engineer in Wrightstown, WI.If you have superb attention to detail, patience, and technical skills in industrial automation, we want to talk with you. The Automation Design Engineer will generate bills of material, design custom control and power distribution panels, and develop associated electrical drawings.

Here's what you'll do:
Single line, 3-line and elementary diagrams
Interconnection and remote I/O diagrams
Panel layouts and conduit layout diagrams
Equipment ID and legend plates lists, wire and cable schedules, bill of materials, conduit schedules
Interacting with CAD, Engineers and Lead Engineers
Interacting with the customer
Industrial controls
Maintain files and quality checks
Functional Specification
Project reviews, construction support and field verification
Basic hardware operation of distributed control systems
CAD tasks and assignments
Wiring practices and electrical fieldwork
Select appropriate hardware and instrumentation for application
Review bid/spec plans, perform material estimates for projects
Work with Project Manager to develop project plans consisting of budget, timeline, resource requirements, BOM's, test forms, and other project documentation
Experience & Skills:
Associate's/Bachelor's Degree or equivalent combination of experience and education in Engineering or a related field
5 years' experience in the industrial automation field.
Positive safety attitude and personal integrity - both are non-negotiable
Ability to travel up to 15% of the time
Strong customer service skills with the ability to understand the customer's point-of-view
Ability to communicate effectively and professionally with various levels of personnel including customers, vendors, managers, field and office workers
Ability to work independently or within a project team
Ability to multi-task and prioritize various daily responsibilities
Ability to effectively use Microsoft products such as Word, Excel, and Outlook
Experience with computer aided drafting; AutoCAD Electrical Preferred (willing to train)
