Position: Cybersecurity SME
Work Location: Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, Dayton, OH
Clearance Requirement: Top Secret / SCI
Position Type / Standard Work Hours: Full-time / 40 hours / On-Site/Hybrid
Summary/ Objective:
The Cybersecurity Subject Matter Expert (SME) will support the Air Force Institute of Technology (AFIT); setting the grounds for rapid development and delivery of weapon system cybersecurity education in response to urgent needs from CROWS, AFMC/CC, and other communities across the AF.
Primary Responsibilities:
  • Develop, maintain, and deliver course material related to cybersecurity education; document courses in accordance with Air Force and AFIT policies; and conduct post-offering assessments. Responsible for interpreting and anticipating vague requirements to develop education content appropriately.
  • Participate in consultation efforts, and attend or participate in workshops, conferences, technical interchanges or similar venues as approved by the government on a case-by-case basis.
  • Instruct on course content in various settings to include traditional classroom settings and distance learning.
  • Required to interact with AFIT, Cyber Resiliency Office for Weapon Systems (CROWS), acquisition management, and/or test agencies and communities.
  • Travel will be required to different sites to instruct.
Required Education and/or Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree or higher in systems engineering, computer security, computer science, cyber operations, information technology, or related degree
  • Minimum seven (7) years of cyber experience.
  • Ability to perform effective oral and written communication to students in classroom and virtual teaching environments.
  • Knowledge of DoD and/or Air Force system acquisition processes, procedures, and techniques
  • Knowledge of DoD and/or Air Force Cyber Test and Evaluation policies and procedures.
Preferred Experience:
  • Understanding of current DoD Cyber Test and Evaluation guidance (e.g., DoDI 5000.01, DoDI 5000.02, DoDI 5000.89, DoDM 5000.89C, DAFI 99-103 Supplement to DoDI 5000.89, DoD Cyber T&E Guidebook, applicable Title 10 directives, AFI 63-101, AFMAN 63-119, and other applicable guidance documents).
  • Understanding of the Mission-based Risk Assessment Process for Cyber (MRAP-C) Mission Based Cyber Risk Assessment (MBCRA) methodology, including: the MRAP-C Guidebook, process steps, and artifacts/products; team member roles and responsibilities; the application of the process to a variety of programs from varying acquisition pathways; and how to tailor the process and products to meet customer needs.
  • Understanding of other Mission Based Cyber Risk Assessment (MBCRA) methodologies (e.g., DoD Cyber Table Top (CTT), Cyber BlueBook, etc.) including the applicable: MBCRA’s Guidebook, process steps, and artifacts/products; team member roles and responsibilities; and the application of the process to a variety of programs from varying acquisition pathways.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
This position does not supervise the work of others.
Work Environment:
This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment.
Physical Demands:
Must be able to operate a computer and other standard office equipment.
Must be able to remain in a stationary position 80%.
Travel:
Less than 5%.
