Summary: Improves, develops, restores or maintains a child's sensory motor function in education environments. The therapist functions as a "related service provider" under state and federal laws and regulations. Essential Functions: Ability to conduct appropriate evaluation of students referred for related services under IDEA and prepare written reports of the evaluations and findings.Participate in meetings as a member of the multidisciplinary teamParticipate in the development of IEP's or 504 plans for studentsProvide direct and indirect physical therapy in educational settings/lest restrictive environments of studentsCollaborate with other school personnel regarding the physical therapy and the students' needsAbility to identify physical impairments/ delays Proven skills/knowledge of treatment plans specific to pediatricsProven skills/knowledge in the intervention including but not limited to the facilitation of the development of motor skills, postural awareness, ambulation and gait training, sensor motor processing, cardiovascular function, wheelchair mobility, adaptation or modification of equipment.Proven skills/knowledge of the initial or additional deformity or disability via early intervention and transportation needs of studentsAbility to maintain confidential recordsMust be able to travel among schools to provide servicesAbility to lift, transfer and position of children and/or equipment as necessaryQualifications:Degree in Physical Therapy requiredLicensed to practice Physical Therapy in Rhode Island2 years experience in pediatrics and/or school setting preferredA valid driver's license
