Shenandoah Community Health Clinic is Hiring a Medical Receptionist Near Woodstock, VA

Shenandoah Community Health Clinic (SCHC) in Woodstock, VA is seeking a full-time Medical Receptionist. Spanish speaking preferred but not required.

SCHC is a non-profit agency providing Medical, Dental and Behavioral Health services to the local community and surrounding areas. The clinic has been serving the area for over 22 years.

The Medical Receptionist serves a critical role in ensuring patient access to care for our Woodstock clinic. The primary responsibility is to be the point of contact at check-out, secondary for answering phones and other administrative tasks as needed. This position also plays a critical role in our medication assistance program. The person in this role must be friendly, professional in appearance and manners and able to multi-task.

This position is 32 hours per week, Monday-Thursday approx. 8:30 am-5:00 pm. There will be occasional Thursday evening clinics where the hours will be 11:00 am-7:00 pm, based on scheduling. No Fridays or weekends.

Essential Functions & Examples of Duties:

· Schedule follow-up appointments

· Process outgoing referrals

· Process medication assistance applications and medications

· Answer phone professionally and treat each patient with dignity and respect

· Have basic computer knowledge, work in an EMR, use email and other programs necessary to complete tasks.

· Other office duties as assigned.

Requirements:

· Possess good listening and communication skills.

· High school diploma or equivalent.

· At least one (1) year previous experience in a medical office setting is required.

· Knowledge of basic office equipment.

· Office skills for data entry, word processing and basic record-keeping principles.

· Previous knowledge of healthcare systems is preferred.

· HIPAA compliant

· Excellent time management and organizational skills.

· Ability to handle multi-line phone system.

· Demonstrate a friendly, patient and compassionate demeanor when dealing with people, even in difficult situations.

· Spanish speaking is a plus.
