    Description:

    Develop, manage and coordinate the speech-language program and needs of students with communication disorders while enabling each individual student to derive full benefit from the district's educational program.
    Job Summary:
    1. Conduct Speech and Language Screening for all students new to the district and other referrals.
    2. Participate in kindergarten screening when appropriate.
    3. Participate in preschool screening when appropriate.
    4. Participate in IEP conferences including the preparation of IEP goals and objectives.
    5. Provide evaluation information for the completion of comprehensive case studies including the administration and interpretation of speech and language assessments.
    6. Assist and or complete records for the evaluation of speech and language students.
    7. Participate in Parent Teacher Conferences as required.
    8. Periodically communicates with parents as needed to review the status of student progress.
    9. Participate in collaboration meetings as required.
    10. Provide information to parents regarding the speech and language program.
    11. Provide special education inservice and serve as a resource for the staff.
    12. Participate in Teacher Assistance Team meetings.
    13. Provide appropriate individualized programs of therapy to correct existing speech or language handicaps.
    14. Assist in developing speech and language curriculum modifications.
    15. Expand knowledge in areas related to the job role as Speech & Language Pathologist, (including technology applications) by such means as reading current literature on
    students with special needs, attending professional conferences and workshops and collaborating with other professionals doing similar work.
    16. Perform such tasks and assume such responsibilities as may from time to time be assigned.
    Qualifications:
    Certification and qualifications as set by the State Board of Education and the School Code. Speech & Language endorsement required.
