This position will be in direct support of the Inflation Reduction Act of 2022. This Act increases healthcare spending by nearly $100 billion, mainly by extending the American Rescue Plan's temporarily-expanded Affordable Care Act (ACA) premium tax credits for an additional three years, through 2025. The bill will also allow Medicare to negotiate prescription drug prices, implement improvements to Medicare Part D including a benefit redesign and new manufacturer discount program, impose inflation rebates for Part B and Part D drugs, and other miscellaneous changes in Part B and Part D to improve the affordability of prescription drugs.Workplace Flexibility at CMS: This position has a regular and recurring reporting requirement to the CMS office listed in this announcement; however, CMS offers flexible working arrangements and allows employees the opportunity to participate in telework combined with alternative work schedules at the manager's discretion. This position may be authorized for telework. Telework eligibility will be discussed during the interview process. Supervisory positions must report a minimum 2 times per week and non-Supervisory positions must report a minimum of 2 times per pay period.

Duties
- Gather and analyze clinical and cost information, assessing utilization, obtaining provider opinion; and performing pharmacoeconomic analyses.
- Provide authoritative technical assistance as a professional pharmacist to CMS staff and leadership at the regional or consortium level on regulations, policies, procedures, and other guidelines.
- Serve as a recognized technical authority and expert as a professional pharmacist to develop, monitor, enforce, and provide technical assistance on regulations, policies, procedures, and other guideline materials.
- Manage highly complex projects, making contributions that have significant impact on major CMS IRA policies, programs, and milestones.
- Provide professional pharmacy consultation, negotiation, and advice on a wide range of Inflation Reduction Act related program issues or policies.
- You must be a U.S. Citizen or National to apply for this position.
- You will be subject to a background and suitability investigation.

- Maintaining all medication records required by law.
