VEIR is Hiring a Supply Chain Engineer (Contract) Near Woburn, MA
- Collaborate with project managers and engineers to develop supply chain strategies that support project timelines and objectives.
- Source, evaluate, and select suppliers based on quality, cost, and delivery considerations.
- Negotiate contracts and agreements with suppliers of goods and services to ensure favorable terms and conditions.
- Manage ECOs (Engineering Change Orders) and supply agreement amendments.
- Monitor inventory levels and forecast demand to prevent shortages and excess inventory.
- Coordinate with logistics partners to arrange transportation and delivery of materials to project sites , including managing customs, duties, and tariffs.
- Develop a process to track and report key performance metrics, such as on-time delivery, inventory turnover, and supplier performance.
- Identify and implement supply chain management tools (ERP/PLM).
- Identify and mitigate supply chain risks for the product and its services.
- Identify opportunities for process improvement and cost reduction within the supply chain function.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and company policies related to procurement and logistics.
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related field.
- 3 years of experience in supply chain management, procurement, or logistics.
- Strong understanding of supply chain principles, including procurement, inventory management, and logistics.
- Experience with sourcing and evaluating suppliers, negotiating contracts, and managing supplier relationships.
- Proficiency with supply chain management software and tools, such as ERP systems and inventory management software.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with internal teams and external partners.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a focus on continuous improvement and optimization.
- Experience with a hardware or manufacturing start-up
- Full life cycle procurement experience from feasibility through supply chain audit
- Experience with international business practices
- Experience in related industries-Cryogenics, Superconductivity, Power Transmission/distribution.
